Poetry Plus

The weekend I had the pleasure to be a part of a wonderful show called Poetry Plus here in Busan. For years it was an ongoing project bringing together expat artists of all types, from poets to musicians to visual artists. Unfortunately, the artistic circles of the expat community splintered into their own groups, and for the last seven years, Poetry Plus has been defunct.

Now, though, my friend Kay has brought his creation back to the stage and screen of Eva's Ticket in the heart of KSU. He was gracious enough to offer me a part in the visual aspect of the show. I was able to show my work alongside the amazing works of Peter deMarco, Mike Dixon, Antony Jackson, and Kelsey Smith. (Unfortunately, I don't know where to find the art of the others online.) Together, we provided the digital visual backdrop to this amazing show. I feel it is a great honor to be a part of this grand tradition reborn.

I would normally post a lot of images from the show in concert with my writing, but I spent most of my time talking to people, handing out business cards, and getting utterly smashed.

If you're in Busan in the coming months, there's another Poetry Plus event planned for mid-September, a few days before my departure. Hope to see you there!
